Every chart and diagram on BrightVolt is free to reuse, including commercially. All we ask is a credit and a link.
We build our own visuals. Each one is drawn from primary sources — a regulator’s filing, a manufacturer’s release, a statistical agency’s tables — and the figures behind it are checked against a second source before it is published. We would rather those charts travelled than sat behind a permission request, so the terms are deliberately simple.
What you may do
Republish any BrightVolt chart or diagram, on any site, in any publication, commercial or not. Put it in a newsletter, a slide deck, a lecture, a news article, a company blog. You do not need to ask us first and you do not need to pay.
You may crop or resize it to fit your layout. If you alter the chart in a way that changes what it says — relabelling an axis, removing a series, recolouring so the categories read differently — please note that it has been adapted, so nobody attributes your version’s claims to us.
What we ask in return
Credit BrightVolt, and link to the article the chart came from. The link matters more than the credit. It is how readers reach the working behind the number, and it is the only thing we get out of this.
The easiest way is the embed code under every chart on the site: open the “Use this chart” panel beneath any figure and copy the snippet. It carries the image and the credit link together, and because it points at our copy of the file, a correction reaches your page too.
Two things this does not cover
Photographs. Most photographs on the site are licensed from Pexels and credited to the photographer at the foot of the article. Those are not ours to sub-license — go to the original source for terms.
The underlying data. A chart is our presentation of someone else’s figures. The presentation is ours to give away; the data belongs to whoever collected it, and where a chart carries a source line, that source’s own terms apply to the numbers themselves.
Corrections
If you find an error in a chart, tell us and we will fix it. Because the embed code hotlinks our file, a corrected chart updates wherever it has been embedded — one of the better reasons to use the snippet rather than a downloaded copy.
